Basic Information about the Michigan HR Day Student Internship & Scholarship:
Michigan HR Day provides
human resources (HR) professionals across Michigan an opportunity to exchange
information, ideas, and experiences.
Positioned at a critical time for Michigan
organizations, the event addresses the relevance of the HR function as an
important part of Michigan's
economic gardening and revitalization. Michigan HR Day welcomes HR
professionals and students from diverse Michigan organizations, a true
reflection of the state's business environment and culture.
The 2019 Michigan HR Day
Event is April 11, 2019 and the planning committee will be searching for an Intern
to be a part of 2019's efforts to continue the largest HR conference in
Michigan. In addition to the internship,
the selected candidates will be awarded a $1,000 dollar scholarship. For more information on Michigan HR Day visit

HR Day board is comprised of a diverse group of human resources professionals
covering many industries and sectors across Michigan. The role of the intern will be to work
alongside each board member to help coordinate planning efforts for the 2019
event. The intern will be fully engaged
in the areas of marketing, sponsorship outreach, event services, and many
others. In addition, the intern will play an active role in regular updates to
the Michigan HR website.
The selected candidate will begin in mid to late December 2018. The committee meets bi-weekly, typically every other Wednesday from noon-1pm. Additional meetings are held depending on planning efforts. The intern will be expected to call in for the bi-weekly committee meetings and any additional meetings that are necessary.
The application deadline will be announced in late summer, 2018. Applicants must send a resume, cover letter and a video at that time. The selected candidate will be based on their resume, cover letter writing, as well as communication and presentation skills in the video. The video sample in the application should be no longer than 5 minutes and focus on the following: (1) What drives you to pursue a career in the field of Human Resources? (2) Why you are the right fit for this internship opportunity. (3) What will you be able to offer (such as skill set or experiences) to Michigan HR Day.
Undergraduate and graduate students are eligible. You must be currently enrolled in a program at a Michigan college or university with a degree concentration in Human Resources or related field.
